How do I hire Upstate Jamboree to create a fiercely fun gaming experience at my wedding or event?
Easy peasy! First decide which game package and lounge rentals you’re interested in from our Rental Packages page. Fill out the corresponding reservation form with your event specifics, and we'll follow-up with our availability and an official quote. You'll pay a 50% deposit to reserve your date, with the remaining 50% balance to be paid one week prior to the big day.
Where are your games from?
We design and build our games from scratch, using as much locally sourced wood from the Catskills as possible. These are our own game designs that you can’t find anywhere else!
Some of our games incorporate vintage elements and one-of-a-kind antiques.
Many of our games you probably already know like Bocce Ball, Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Connect Four, Dutch Shuffleboard, Croquet and Giant Chess and Checkers. However our life-sized board games are our pride and joy, inspired by old world Europe and traveling carnivals.
I see your rental company is based in the mid Hudson Valley, NY. How far do you travel for weddings and events?
Our normal stomping grounds are Ulster, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam, Sullivan, Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties throughout New York State, as well as NYC and the Adirondack Mountains. All game rental packages include free travel within a 50 mile radius of Kingston, New York 12401, but we love a good adventure and are willing to travel out of state! We’ve worked many a wedding in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and even New Hampshire.
Are your delivery fees included in the package prices?
All New York event locations within a 50 mile radius of our headquarters in Kingston, NY 12401 are eligible for free white glove delivery with any package!
New York State locations (not including NYC and Long Island) beyond that 50 mile radius and within a 7-hour roundtrip drive require a $250 travel fee + 95 cents per additional mile (beyond the first 50 miles).
New York State locations (not including NYC and Long Island) beyond a 7-hour roundtrip drive require a $500 travel and overnight fee + 95 cents per additional mile.
NYC, Long Island and out-of-state events within a 7-hour roundtrip drive require a $350 travel fee + 95 cents per additional mile.
NYC, Long Island and out-of-state events beyond a 7-hour roundtrip drive require a $600 travel and overnight fee + 95 cents per additional mile.
Are Upstate Jamboree attendants present at the event?
For all of our packages, our team will be there for our white glove delivery and set up which happens before your gaming hours begin, as well as break down of the games after your gaming hours. Additionally an attendant will be present during your event for Game Rental Packages 2-4. This attendant will be present during your specified gaming hours to reset the games as they are played, answer your guests’ questions, and offer playing tips. Additional attendants are available as a package add-on.
Do you have any precautions in place for Covid-19?
We sure do! We are taking Covid very seriously to ensure the safety of our clients, their guests, other vendors and staff.
We disinfect the games both before and after each event.
We wear masks during delivery, break down and any time we interact with others.
If you would prefer to reduce exposure for everyone, you may forego the attendant (if applicable to your game rental package).
We take daily temperature checks the entire week leading up to the event and get tested if any symptoms arise.
When we deliver and breakdown our games, we do it with the least interaction possible with guests and venue / event staff.
We encourage everyone to wear a mask and keep a happy distance with others— it’s the least we can do to help our neighbors!
How long is your standard game rental package?
All of our rental packages include up to 4 consecutive hours of gaming time. This is separate from the set-up and breakdown time, both of which are included with every rental package at no additional cost.
We need anywhere from 45 minutes to four hours for set up (depending on the rental package and venue). The set-up happens earlier in the day before your guests arrive. Breakdown happens at the end of your gaming window and can take anywhere from 45 minutes to four hours (depending on the rental package and venue). There is no additional charge for the hours it takes us to set up and break down.
Additional gaming hours are available at the following rates: $85/hour for Package 1; $120/hour for Package 2; $155/hr for Package 3; and $190/hr for Package 4.
How tall is your giant Jenga lawn game?
When first set up, our Tipsy Timbers yard game is a full 20 stories high measuring 2.5 feet tall. Throughout the course of the game it can climb over 35 stories tall which can measure well over 5 feet!
I'd like to rent a lawn game package for my wedding rehearsal dinner in addition to my wedding cocktail hour. Do you offer extended rentals?
You betcha! We are more than happy to offer longer term rental packages. Give us an idea of your dream jamboree on our Rental Packages page and we'll get back to you with an estimate.
There is a particular game I would like to rent for my wedding, but I don't see it on your site. Any chance you can source it?
We try our darndest to accommodate every request, including rental package customizations, so feel free to ask away! Who knows, we might even already have that game build in the works.
Can I rent just two lawn games for my wedding?
We’re happy to work up a custom package for you! But please note that our minimum rental is Package #1, which is only available for venues within a 50 mile radius of Kingston, NY. Venues beyond that distance have a minimum of Package #2.
What are your payment terms?
We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to reserve your event date. All balances must be paid in full one week prior to your event.
Will you hold my event date without a deposit?
We offer a courtesy one week hold for your rental package while we work out the details, but beyond that we have a first pay, first reserve policy.
Help, I'm not sure which game rental package to choose for my wedding reception!
Fret not- we've a package for every party! Just drop us a line with the date of your event, the number of guests, your proposed budget for game rentals, and a theme if there is one, and we'll get back to you right away with the best game rental options. We'll even offer up suggestions on customizations to better fit your needs and accommodate your budget.
Can I pick the games up myself?
As we painstakingly craft every game by hand, each is one-of-a-kind and takes many weeks, materials and finessing to complete. Most of our games are also very particular to set up and require specific tools, so unfortunately at this time we are unable to offer self-service rentals. Besides we don’t want you to have to do a thing except enjoy your party! This is why all of our game rental packages are all-inclusive with stress-free white glove delivery, set up and breakdown.
Are you insured?
We sure are! We are fully insured with the ability to add event venues as additionally insured parties to our insurance policy. Certificates of Insurance are available upon request and free of charge for any event.
What happens if one of my wedding guests damages a game?
Though this is highly unlikely, it's best to be prepared and clear on our damage policy. If there is a repairable damage made, we only charge the cost of repair. If a piece is damaged beyond repair we charge a replacement cost, which varies per game. But please rest easy- the chances of this happening are extremely slim. Knock on wood, it hasn’t happened yet!
Is there an extra charge for event delivery using an elevator, loading dock or ferry?
Yes there is an additional $425 charge for events that require use of a loading dock and/or elevator and/or ferry. It’s nothing personal, it just takes a lot more time and equipment to deliver and pick up our games this way!
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made in writing via email. Rental packages cancelled 6 months prior to their event date will receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations made up to 5 months in advance of their event date will receive a 75% deposit refund. Cancellations made up to 3 months in advance of their event date will receive a 50% deposit refund. Cancellations made up to 1 month in advance of their event date will receive a 25% deposit refund. Any cancellations thereafter forfeit the entirety of their payments.
What if it rains during my event?
Please note that our games and rental items must be protected from the elements at all times, so you are responsible for making sure they are safe and dry the entire time they are at your event venue. It’s best for you to have an inclement weather plan in place. We are happy to work up a back-up rain plan with you! This way you can have a list of games for good weather, and a separate list of games for inclement weather.
Because your reserved items cannot be rented to any other party, deposit and balance payments cannot be refunded for any reason including inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. We appreciate your understanding!
