What the Groomsmen Do Before the Wedding

With a lot of time in the day before the ceremony begins, what do the groom and his groomsmen do while the bride gets glammed up? It certainly helps to have some fun activities planned that the fellas can jump into— and ones that don’t exclusively revolve around the bar. What better way to get out any wedding jitters than fun and games with your best buds?

We were thrilled when Paula Smith, founder and event planner extraordinaire behind Your Event, reached out to design a custom game rental package that could be used for a full wedding weekend at the gorgeous Southwood Estate in Germantown, NY. With sprawling grounds overlooking the Hudson River, our lawn games from Package #1 were the ideal choice. They opted for Cornhole (probably our most popular game), Drink Tables, Bocce Ball, Croquet and Tipsy Timbers (aka gaint Jenga), with our Giant Connect Four as an add-on perfect for guests of all ages.

We delivered and set-up the games the day before the wedding to help kick things off at the rehearsal dinner, and they remained overnight to continue entertaining throughout the wedding day from the groom’s daytime festivities through cocktail hour and into the reception.
